The New Year is Here!

Wow, the end of January 2016, time is flying by!  How are your resolutions coming along?  I don't usually make them, I make intentions and set goals, realistic goals, because at my age I have found that being realistic with just a little magic usually gets me where I want to go.

As is the usual with me, between December and January I look at what's working, what's not working and what I'm inspired to do next.  This time it boiled down to a theme:  "keep it simple".  I thought this might help me keep things in perspective, avoid overwhelm, and give me a foundation on which to build from.

It did.  I decided to drop one blog with its associated facebook page, which wasn't doing anything anyway.  I kept this blog and my Huckleberry Hollow blog that's about my home and lifestyle.
I have two Etsy shops, one for jewelry I make and one for the photography.  I also have an account on Fine Art America which is featured here on the blog for larger print sales than my Etsy shop downloads.  I also have a facebook page for the jewelry, but that may get dropped as I have found sharing my promotions I have on Etsy seem to reach a larger audience by just sharing on my facebook profile.

Out in the world I have a day job that takes up most of my time.  I manage an estate, do landscaping work, am a personal assistant and do commercial cleaning.  This pays the bills.
I have many hobbies and interests that run second to the responsibilities, and they fill in the gaps of free time.

So this year is pretty simple.  All of the above with a focus of peace and unity in my life.  Factoring in some time on the deck to watch the birds (I also have a certified Backyard Wildlife Sanctuary), a new meditation space in a room that allows me to watch the sun come up (sort of, filtered through the trees), and a goal to make a few home repairs.

So what about photography?  Ah yes, my fondest hobby.  I will definitely take time to shoot some photos.  Although I find lately that I'm cheating by using the cell phone!  It's so convenient!  But, it's not a Smartphone and it's not the quality I get with my Nikon.
I have a new set of Graduated Neutral Density filters that I played with late last year when the sun still came out, so I will return to playing with them again this year, when the sun finally comes out again
This was last year on the first day I used the filters.  Fun!!

So until next time keep it real, keep it fun and keep trying new things!

Time Flies

Where does the time go?  Already May 2025.  OK, let's catch up. In the past two months I have created several new designs and sold them...
